Value City Arena at The Schottenstein Center - Columbus Event Guide

Venue Information

The Value City Arena at The Schottenstein Center is a premier multi-purpose venue located in the heart of Columbus, Ohio. Opened in 1998, this arena has a rich history of hosting a variety of events, including concerts, sports, and family shows. It serves as the home for the Ohio State Buckeyes men's basketball team and has a seating capacity of over 18,000 for concerts and approximately 19,000 for basketball games.

Throughout the year, the arena hosts a diverse lineup of events that cater to all interests. From thrilling NCAA basketball games to major concert tours, there is always something happening at this vibrant venue. Ticket prices can vary significantly based on the event category; for instance, concert tickets typically range from $50 to $150, while sports events may start as low as $20.

Positive reviews highlight the arena's excellent acoustics and sightlines, making it a favorite among both performers and attendees. The venue also offers various amenities, including food and beverage options that enhance the overall experience for fans.

Seating Information

The seating arrangement at Value City Arena is designed to provide an optimal viewing experience for all attendees. The best sections for concerts are generally located in the lower bowl, particularly sections 1-5 and 10-15, which offer close proximity to the stage and excellent sightlines.

Conversely, the upper levels can be less desirable due to distance from the action. Sections in the upper bowl may not provide the same immersive experience as those closer to the floor. However, they do offer more affordable ticket options for those on a budget.

Parking Information

Parking options around Value City Arena are plentiful but can vary in convenience and cost. The best parking option is the Ohio State University Parking Garage, located at 2050 Tuttle Park Place. This facility offers easy access to the arena and typically charges around $10 per event.

In addition to this garage, there are several surface lots available nearby; however, it is advisable to arrive early as these can fill up quickly during popular events. Attendees should avoid parking in residential areas where restrictions may apply, leading to potential fines or towing.

The arena's central location in Columbus makes it easily accessible from various parts of the city, enhancing its appeal as a go-to destination for entertainment.
